We want to bring awareness to the International Day of People with Disabilities, which is today, Dec. 3.

This day aims to bring awareness to those living with disabilities, differences and disorders, both visible and invisible. The 2020 theme is ‘Not all Disabilities are Visible,’ thus promoting awareness for disabilities that are not always apparent, such as mental illness, chronic pain, sight/hearing impairments and learning differences.

In a WHO report, it’s estimated that 15% of the global population lives with a disability, and 450 million have a mental or neurological condition. Of that number, two-thirds of those people will not seek professional help, mainly due to stigma and discrimination.

These are just some examples of the millions living with a disability that’s not immediately apparent and serves as a reminder of the importance of inclusivity, intersectionality and accessibility for all those living with disability, visible and invisible. So we encourage you all to let your awareness spread beyond this day.
